Munster Motor Museum, home of Classic Cars, was opened in February 2018 by Ferrari Designer, Rory Byrne. The museum showcases about 20 classic cars and motorcycles for sale as well as motors of all kinds from steam, diesel and petrol to 4stroke and 2stroke. There are many motoring artefacts and memorabilia on display. In addition, Rod, the owner, has concentrated on local history and people, with information on the wreck of the Nightingale for example. There is a large range of car, motorcycle, ship and aircraft models as well as books and magazines in the Library. Monthly lectures on motoring and motors will be advertised which will target specific groups from school children, the average interested person to people who wish to service their own vehicles (DIY). For example, he will teach people how to change a wheel and the basics of looking after a car.
The museum is a meeting place for car and bike lovers and a source of plenty of technical and other advice for anyone wishing to buy, maintain, repair or restore pre-loved classic cars and motorcycles.
Open 7 days a week from 10am – 4pm. There is an admission charge of R20 for adults, R10 for pensioners & teenagers and R5 for children under 13 years. There is also a R50 annual season ticket.
