635 – Butterfly Valley

Butterfly Valley, 46 Fascadale Road, Ramsgate Beach, South Africa

Get back to nature with a visit to Butterfly Valley butterfly farm.

We have approximately 2000 square meters of gardens enclosed with shade netting in which you can wander around and relax.

Most of the butterflies that you will see in the enclosure will have been bred out on the farm in our breeding center. Visitors will be taken on an informative ???life-cycle??? tour which lasts about a half hour. The tour covers the various stages of development of butterflies from egg to adult as well as other interesting facts about theses amazing creatures.

Butterflies sense the security of the enclosure and will generally not fly away from you as they do in the wild, allowing for that elusive close up photograph.

Once you have been through the butterfly free flight area, you can find that perfect memento in our craft shop, treat yourself to a slice of cake in our tea garden, go for a short walk on our river trail or just sit and relax while the kids play on the swings.

PLEASE NOTE that the Butterfly Sanctuary on the next door property is closed and is not affiliated to Butterfly Valley.
