We would like to provide our clients with unique, eco-friendly and local products.
This is our way of selling Proudly South African products…
The Rotary Craft and Fleamarket began in 1988 when stall holders started a fleamarket overlooking the beach.
In 1990 the market moved to Uvongo and Rotary became involved in this ‘Craft Market’.
Space constraints necessitated moving again in 1992 to open ground opposite the Spar.
Finally in 1998 the market moved to its present permanent location opposite the Douglas Mitchell Sports Ground.
Today the market provides a livelihood for over 200 stallholders, their staff and weekend site employees. Rotary administer this craft and fleamarket. The stall rentals provide funds for Rotary to enable funding of over thirty of their charity projects that receive ongoing support. This is truly a win-win situation.
The market is unique inasmuch that it comprises mostly handmade crafts and has often been described by visitors as ”the best they have seen”.
A tea garden and several other food stalls provide sustenance for visitors and the area is wheelchair friendly. Strategically placed benches offer a resting place under the trees.
This tourist attraction is a ”must visit” venue, open every Saturday and Sunday morning, weather permitting. There is ample parking available.
