Wild to South Walk

After a 45km transfer from the Wild Coast Sun, an afternoon canoeing or swimming and overnight stay at the popular Mtentu Lodge, the first two days take you 24km along the untamed beaches of the Wild Coast, past river gorges, waterfalls, shipwrecks and ancient fossil beds – some dating back 85 million years – to the Umtamvuna River, with a comfortable and friendly overnight stay in the Nyameni village above the sea.

On a third day, linger in the Umtamvuna Gorge area. Visit an inspiring community school and 130m pedestrian suspension bridge, built to take school children safely across the Mzamba river gorge. After lunch at Beaver Creek coffee estate, get a taste of the KwaNzimakwe community experience and watch the sunset from their spectacular viewing site above the sea. Then carry on north for 20km along the beautiful beaches and conservancies of the lower South Coast to end at Ramsgate’s Whale and Dolphin Viewing Deck and famous Waffle House. Overnight stays in handpicked guesthouses in Leisure Bay, Trafalgar and Ramsgate.

Departures are between Tuesdays and Saturdays at 09:00am from the Wild Coast Sun.
