Situated in an old stone house on a banana farm overlooking the Impenjati lagoon and Nature Reserve, Casa Toscana is a real piece of Tuscany in the Natal South Coast.
The emphasis is on the quality and freshness of ingredients: Parmesan Cheese, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Dry Pasta and Peeled Tomatoes are imported, fish and seafood are sourced locally, beef comes from the Kokstad pastures, Porcini mushrooms from the Singisi forest.
Bread is baked daily with stone-ground chemical-free flour, fresh pasta is home-made and so are the delicious desserts.
Casa Toscana offers a selection of both South African and Italian wines and beers. Various Italian grappas and amaris are available to complete this gastronomic trip to Tuscany.
Casa Toscana has been recently awarded by the Italian authorities the prestigious “Premio Ospitalita` Italiana” for the originality and quality of their food.
Hosts Marisa and Andrea open Casa Toscana from Tuesday dinner to Sunday lunch.
