All our guides are A.P.A (African paddling association) Trip Leader qualified and our equipment SAMSA (South African maritime safety authority) registered.

White Water Rafting

Half day Rafting
Spoil your family or join your friends/colleagues on a half day rafting on the Umzimkulu river. You will raft a section rarely seen, take on fantastic rapids with beautiful surrounding, enjoy a little snack at half-time break and have a day full of fun! Our trips are daily and start 2 times a day at 08h30 and 13h30.

Difficulty: Grade I-IV (Potential for swims…! Ja….!)

Time: 3-3.5 hrs

You need: Swimming knowledge, shoes that may get wet, costume or bikinis and sun cream! We supply:  All equipment, qualified guides, Transport to the river and back from the meeting point, drinks and snack on the river.

Depending on waterlevel children may not be able to raft due to safety reasons, but we host a childrens programm during the rafting.

Multi Day Rafting

This is a true adventure and rarely rafted section on the infamous Umzimkulu river. We raft 5 days and 4 nights down from Umzimkulu town to the Oribi section plus\minus 55-60Km. This outdoor trip may involve portages and heavy whitewater, so let’s do it…..!!!!!

Difficulty: III-V (working as a team to get through it….!)
Time: 5 Days
You need: Camping gear, costume and bikinis, tent and drinks.
We supply: All equipment, qualified guides, all meals on the river, transport to the put in and back from the meeting point.
Price: R2200 p/p

Kayak Schools
Our kayaks schools cater for the complete beginner to the full on seasoned paddler who’ s looking for someone to handle logistics and show the line….

Prices depend on group size and how long the course should be.
So don’t hesitate to ask for an individual offer!

Beginners
Come and learn to kayak, we run a step by step kayak clinic. Introducing the basics, from rolling a kayak, paddle strokes and paddle technique. On this 2 day course you will paddle light grade II water.
Be aware kayaking can be addictive….!

Intermediate
So you’ve paddled a few rivers and hungry for more…! Join us for a more advanced course. 2-3 day instruction on grade 3+ waters. Over the 3 days we’ ll cover more advanced river reading skills and boating techniques.

Freestyle clinics
Like to play…. then play with us! This Oribi section is loaded with great play boating features and possibilities. From retentive fast free holes, to clean glassy chocolate standing wave. We teach you good, healthy paddling techniques and guarantee results. If the river isn’t big enough for you, we’ll pack up and it the surf, improving fitness and rolling.

Creeking clinics
KwaZulu-Natal has it all..! So come and learn on the rivers you’ve heard of from your local heroes. This course will cover BOOF strokes, Creek boat placement when setting up for bigger drops, and running the steeps . This course will give you the confidence to fire it up and kayak..!!!!

Indoor Events
We offer theatre and circus courses/events/classes and also the fun event of a “Dine and crime”. More infos you find on www.oribioutdoors.com

Kids
We offer also theatre and circus for kids and teens. So if you need for example something for a birthday party, don’t hesitate to ask for an individual offer.

And during the grown-ups are running the river the small-ones have the possibility to find the famous treasure of “Blackbeard- the pirate” which is hidden somewhere at Oribi Nature Reserve. An exciting quest through the park will bring lots of fun and an unforgettable day for the kids!
