S’khumba Crafts has been operating on the Lower South Coat since 1995. In that time it has established itself as one of the top tourism draw cards on the coast.
Set in one of the few remaining indigenous forests on the Lower South Coast, S’khumba Crafts specialises in top – quality, hand – crafted leatherware: shoes and sandals, belts, bags and a variety of decor and accessory items are on display in this forest hide – away. These articles are all produced on the premises by owner/manager craftsman Brian Bernstein, his wife Karen and their team of dedicated leather workers. Each item is designed and overseen by Brian, who has extremely high standards in his workshop, from the start of the crafting process to the last finishings. This is functional art at it’s best!
Once you have ambled down the rustic path to the shop and been lulled by the tranquility of the forest canopy, the hand – crafted benches of the coffee – shop are there to convince you that there is no rush to return to the outside world. The S’khumba Crafts coffee – shop serves a consice menu of hot and cold drinks, ice cold beers and coolers and a variety of delicious home – made cakes.
